My tasks¶
Tasks → My tasks shows the tasks assigned to you in the checklists currently running.
A checklist is a set of tasks to be carried out over a period — typically a month-end close. Each task is assigned to a user.
Task statuses¶
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| In progress | The task is yours and can be worked on. |
| Pending dependency | Another task has to be finished first. |
| Submitted | You have submitted the task; it awaits review. |
| In approval | The checklist has been sent for approval. |
| Approved | Approved. |
| Done | On its way to posting. |
| Posted | Posted in the ERP. |
Dependencies
A task can depend on another. While the other one is unfinished, yours shows as Pending dependency and cannot be submitted. It opens by itself once the prerequisite is met.
The three task types¶
Standard¶
A task you carry out and sign off. Task steps states what has to be done. You can attach documentation and write a comment.
Reconciliation¶
You reconcile an account against your documentation.
- Choose the account. It can be a bank, a customer, a vendor or a G/L account.
- The reconciliation runs either on Balance or on Period, and in LCY or the account's currency — this is set on the task.
- Enter the amount your documentation shows, and attach it.
The system calculates the deviation between the account and your documentation. Where a tolerance is set up — either as an amount (LCY) or a percentage — the deviation has to fall within it before the task can be submitted.
Posting¶
A task that generates an entry. The posting type is either Accrual with reversal or Accrual without reversal.
You can see the journal lines as a preview before they are posted. They are only posted once the checklist has been finally approved.
Submitting¶
When the task is done, you submit it. It changes to Submitted and awaits review.
If the task is rejected, it comes back to you with a cause for rejection, and you can correct it and submit again.
